I wish I hadn't.... just clipped my 3 month old thermos flask against the plastic (yes, plastic) lidded cup I take my milk to the allotment in. The thermos flask shattered into oblivion. I said a rude word.

What's your moment of the week?

Dear Motherwoman,
mine was carefully picking off the seed pods from one wigwam of sweetpeas which were white ones and not realizing until they were in the bag that several pods were attached to a stray vine from the next wigwam along which had blue sweetpeas.............
Still, I rather like blue and white together, just as well really.
Regards Sally Wright.

An intentional blue and white scheme sounds very on trend Sally!

CQC... something Queens Counsel? As bad as Ofsted for butterfly stomach moments?

In the news today http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-24635887

Strange our local hospitals have been branded failures for years mainly for overspending and they turn up in next to best group, is there a link?

Care Quality Commission & we are part of the new pilot. It's pretty stressful but they are going to have so much more credibility in what they report - crawling over the place! 20+ inspectors (4 previously), professionals & members of the public are inspectors, invited in the public for their opinion, staff forums, just requesting ad hoc data, speaking to patients, sitting all morning observing so staff relaxed & acted normally. And told the management team who were supposed to go with them - No Thanks!

I don't know what the outcome will be, but I personally think the public should be reassured they are being so thorough! (& no they didn't visit us or ask me anything but I did contribute in one of the forums)
