Dear Alan, thank you for the reminder, but i must admit, i'm already pacing the corridor in the east wing, in anticipation.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

A job that I haven't had to do for a little while...due to pendulum support spring failure in 2011.
......however...on Thursday an engineer arrived from Penrith and has dismantled the clock for transport back to base for full clean and service as required. North face little hand fixings repair and big hand fracture repair. New ropes and pulleys to be fitted on return....

Dear OH,
After a late night waiting to turn the "big " clock back, hope you enjoy the extra hour snuggled under the duvet in the morning

With our clock away it has left the clock hand drive shafts and the drive coupling joint forks in situ on 3 clock faces...
So there's me looking up at the tower when one set of hands starts to turn round.!!
I went up and investigated....a Jackdaw had got in to the tower and was flapping and hopping about landing on the drive forks and its weight turning the drive.!!
Well done Old H'....I can only claim 5 years of winding up.
