Ok, I admit to being a cynic.

I bought a large sack of nutrient material from a huge national provider of all the things we need. At four times the price of direct delivered 6X (If you buy six bags) this stuff just seems like exactly the same thing though they claim to use seaweed. What they don't claim is any nutrient values which is about right for chicken poo.

Now I found two other adverts for similar products, similarly priced, similarly vague.

Excuse me for being a cynic, these marketing people rely on the assumption/fact that no one is going to take them to task on their marketing hype/lies. Ok, if you throw a handful of seaweed into Rogers chicken poo it'll be different.

Ahh Richard - I always go on recommendation from others on these products. (Luckily it's a large allotment site so I just hang around near the best looking vege & strike up a conversation with the owner) I do like 6X but can only find the pelleted one around here at the moment & the one I liked was loose & crumbly. I don't like the pellets as I find them in the soil when I weed so don't feel they break down very quickly. I use my seaweed as a foliar feed so plants do get a boost.

I'm going to convince the hubby to let me try some more free seaweed off the beach this year, but the memory of little weeny crabs in the back of the car is still quite fresh in his mind!

I don't like the pellets either though they can be convenient. My lovely little Molly chews them and particularly likes a crunchy one.

One purveyor of what I call, "re-marketed chicken poo" has declined to offer an N.P.K. value for it's bag of "Farmyard manure". They just reiterate the addition of seaweed.

Buy your chicken poo from 6X and add your our adjunct.
