We have just acquired some top sets of these intriguing onions from a friend who grows them successfully in our area. We have been after some for a long while, mainly for the "novelty" value! :D
Have any of you grown these?

I'm curious about these, in what way do they 'walk'?

Bulblets form at the top of the stem, which then falls over and the bulbets root.

Kinky little devils aren't they! Never grown them but they look fun.

Thanks for the link Alan. Apparently there are two different varieties. As for eating them, the flavour is like mild spring onions or shallots.

My husband has been after these for ages so the bulblets were planted this afternoon. I wish he was as speedy to do things that I need doing....
