If you have a glut of courgettes try using them instead of apples in a crumble.
I tried a recipe found on the internet and was really skeptical but it worked.
I've posted about it on my blog if you are interested

Dear glallotments, cook is making your crumble suggestion today, so thank you for the recipe.
Also, my Mum makes a lot of chutneys using apples as the main ingredient, now, do you think these could be substituted for courgettes?
And if so, do you think they would need peeling first?
If this is possible, it would save her a lot of money in June and July, when apples are at their most expensive.
Any thoughts would be much apreciated.
I feel a little nervous being in the cooking section!

I don't see why not. As for peeling I think it would depend on the age and toughness of the skins. We didn't peel for the crumble.
If you search the Internet for courgette chutney there are lots of recipes. Here are a couple that I have found.

I'm glad - the responsibility was weighing heavily.
