...And the harvest begins!

My little half-plot is beginning to give me produce of all kinds.

For a few weeks now I have been picking radishes, lettuce, spinach. But now my first sowing of peas are coming into their own. I took a couple of lovely fat pods home yesterday to eat with Mr Piglet. He was suitably impressed :D

I have my first-ever courgette coming. That may be ready for harvesting today. There are several pumpkins on my HUGE pumpkin plants. One I've seen is already about tennis-ball size. There are some french beans ready to pick (may have these with tea tonight). My two little Apache chilli plants have several chillis on them, with loads more to come. Everything is doing really really well.

From the response I got from some of my fellow allotmenteers when I planted chilli plants outside, I rather think they thought I was a little mad planting chillis outside. But, the weather has fortunately been on my side and my little chilli plants have thrived.

  I think you may well be right!

Came home with a lovely courgette, some peas, lots of french beans. Even Mr Piglet liked the courgette (& that's saying something!), french beans were lovely, and the peas were far far tastier than even the Birds Eye ones (other pea providers are available!).
