Belated Happy birthday.
How did OH get away with it - I see trouble ahead.
Sadly, judging by s-in-l experience, you won't be eligible for a bus pass until you catch up with the ever receding retirement age.

Sorry it's a little late in the day but, a very Happy Birthday to you both.
Two wonderful forum members indeed, and both of you have made me smile over the years, so thank you. xxxx

Well Elaine, you check with your District council or County Councilfor bus passes I think. But you can still get concessions for National Trust subscriptions, 10% off for over 60's at B & Q on Wednesdays, concerts and other places of entertainment often offer concessions for over 60's and some hairdressers offer cheap haircutting days for over 60's too, so not all bad news!

Thank you all for your birthday wishes.
Congratulations Elaine, 60 years young, hope you had a lovely day and truely spoilt
O.H, you late reply has been noted , but due to your ageing years (100, we are lead to believe) and obviously with now fading eyesight , we as forum members, will have to get used to this behaviour....
OR..
Cook has found out about you sowing scorzonera and salsify again and you had been banished to the clock tower for the day, only to be allowed back at dusk

Or, it could have been a combination of them both.

Thank you Primrose...I will certainly be asking about over 60's discounts everywhere from now on.

Fortunately, I have never been one of these women who are coy about their age, so I will make a point of it.
When my husband finally caved in and went to his GP last year (he never goes until absolutely forced) and got a prescription, poor aud lad was very upset to find he didn't have to pay for his prescription as he was over 60. I thought he'd be chuffed but no....the ruffy tuffy biker was grumping about it meaning he was getting old!
