Are Worms Territorial?

When I weed if I find a worm I throw it back to the area already weeded. Just recently when I have done this a lighter fatter worm often engages in a little wrestle with it? Haven't noted the outcome as they both bury themselves again. Is this normal worm behaviour or is it a predator worm, or is it the girl / boy thing maybe??

Dear Westi, i would have thought it was just as simple as something touching the other worm that made it act in such a way.

How much wine had you had? :)

OH :D :D :D :D - Diet Coke tonight - school day tomorrow! It is a very fat pale grey worm though that always pops up & quite an exagerrated performance - not the usual couple of seconds of annoyance!
