Autumn-planted shallots

Next month I'll be planting over-wintering shallots for the first time. Does anyone have any advice on feeding them? I'm guessing that they won't want much feed at this stage for fear of putting on too much growth, but will want feeding up in the spring.

Ken, you might like to have a look at Geoff's and OH's reply to my query last week under the heading "Soil for garlic, onions etc" . I think this might answer your question.

I will certainly follow their advice this weekend.
