A picture of our youngest granddaughter in South Africa last month posing with cheetah. Yes, it was a real live one and yes, she did survive - she was here last weekend.

Cheetahs make good pets, something of a status symbol for the ancient Egyptians and more recently for some African leaders.

wow awesome

Heh - I'd probably get mauled as my first instinct would be to grab it around the neck and give 'em a good snuggle!
Did get to take an Alpha female wolf for a walk in the woods at the Reading wolf sanctuary a few years back - that was an amazing experience. She flopped and refused to move on the way back - but did insist on many tummy rubs.

I'm quite envious - would love a close encounter with a - not vicious - big cat.

Gosh I envy her having that experience. Quite a privilege. You must be very proud of her.
But however tame it looked I would be rather fearful that I might end up being a tasty lunch!

Oooh how wonderful to be so close to that beautiful animal.....I would love that experience but would probably have to try very hard not to hug it!
