A quirky BBC story today.

Sounds so bizairre, the purpose of a bullet is to kill, however the statistics say that the majority of bullets are fired at targets on ranges. The US Environment Protection Agency issues advice about lead leaching into groundwater from ranges and the Swedes & Norwegians have gone lead-free.

I shoot the Hippopotamus
With bullets made of platinum,
Because if I use leaden ones
His hide is sure to flatten 'em.
Hilaire Belloc, "The Hippopotamus", The Bad Child's Book of Beasts (1896).

In some cases they are using bullets made from depleted uranium

Cheers, Tony.

I don't reckon a 20mm cannon shell counts as a bullet.

This is about pistol & rifle ammunition.
