On my way to my allotment I pass the local stables.Every morning the more experienced riders bring their horses out on to the roadway where at least one horse will defecate and leave a mound of horse poo in the road. Not to pass up a gift like this I park up my bike collect it in a plastic bag and take it to the allotment and put it in a compost bin but I do get some funny looks when passer-byes see a grey-haired man with a grin on his face and hands in a pile of poo!!

Evening Alan,
If my leeks catch the powdery mildew which hit my onions and shallots then they will have the same expression as the leek portrayed on the right!!
Johnboy,
Thank you for the "young man" compliment!!
Diane,
Thanks for the offer of the loan of a shovel but I prefer a "hands-on "approach!!!

Ignore what the passers-by think (they're most probably jealous 'cos they wanted it for their roses or something!). The stables are probably grateful for somebody wanting the poop and clearing it up for them.
If you thought long and hard about it I'm sure you could rig up something along the lines of an old bakers bike with a plastic-lined basket on the front, then cycle along very close behind the horses. This course of action would save you (a) time, (b) poopy hands. You could then cycle straight along to the Lottie with your steaming basket of goodness.

Hi Snooky
In case we ever meet, I think I must quote a few lines from the hilarious Colorectal Surgeon song:
"When I first met a colorectal surgeon, he did not quite understand
Hi, I said. it’s nice to meet you, but do you mind if we don’t shake hands."
