Water butt[b][/b] A barrel or similar shaped container for collecting rain water, devised in such a way that it is full to overflowing when water is not required, but is generally empty when it is.

Greenhouse A structure of wood and glass, often metal and glass, which, whatever its dimensions is always smaller than its owner's ambitions.

Polytunnel A structure of metal hoops covered with plastic film, which, whatever its dimensions is always smaller than its owner's ambition, but usually on a larger scale than Greenhouse above.

Image Courgette - Cucurbita pepo An immature marrow which is noted for producing wind. Should be planted on a calm, warm day. The following days can be guaranteed to be windy and the plants may be damaged or destroyed.

Perennial Weeds these grow year in, year out.
Annual Weeds these grow afresh every year.


To be honest, I thought that the difference between crops and weeds was that the weeds grow despite everything we do and the crops don't, despite everything we do!
