Teeth and spinach

Had a lovely big plateful of freshly picked spinach (perpetual) with grated cheddar and tomato ketchup (often enjoyed as a child) for lunch today. It was delicious but left my teeth feeling really rough, literally. Have never noticed this happening before, is it just me? Is it oxalic acid in spinach? Would cold, wet growing conditions have anything to do with it? Have I answered my own question :?: :?:

 yes Jude, I think you did! Maybe different varieties have more or less oxalic acid, like you I don't always notice it and I have tried a few different varieties. I like the golden beetroot leaves too - they cook up like spinach - two veg in one!
