With half an acre or more of grass waiting to be cut and a wet week in prospect I figured the only solution was to mow yesterday as soon as the grass was dry enough. I stuck at it and finished the last strip at ten past four, put the mower away and at quarter past four the rain came!

I finished some planting late on then put the sprinkler on them, rain got here in the night and still raining. Lose some looks more likely if this happens - I doubt I have enough fleece and plastic.

Geoff Does that mean we are about to have some more frost.. The weather forecast I have looked at says about 7 degs going down to 5 degrees. I will have to dig out the fleece again.

I used to like met check

but it has an intermittent bug and instead of todays weather - you see it was frosty in March!

Yes indeed. I decided that my mangetout might need additional support. Tried to push another cane in, it snapped and I fell on top of the plants snapping some of the other canes. Dirty knees and some squashed plants but could have been worse. Whole row rather shaky now, but only about 3 ft long.

I also tried MetCheck as it is often quoted on here but couldn't make any sense of it, perhaps it works for subscribers. METO (http://www.metoffice.gov.uk) also mentioned grass frost. I think some of the problem is how they interpret your post code.
