I wonder if when OH dresses up as the Easter Bunny this year the good ladies of the WI will manage to stitch him into the costume so he can't get out of it?

How exciting, an Easter Bits and Bobs.

Working all day today at the big house, but nice and bright so quite pleasant.

I not dressing up as a Easter Bunny after last year, one of the WI Ladies was dressed as a lurcher, she didn't arf give me a run for my money..

I would be so lucky, our WI Ladies only know Tweed and Hessian.

Looks like everyone's in for some, especially Monday. Amazing how hosepipe bans influence the weather!

Amen to this'; and we have no hosepipe ban here. Everything is so dry and watering in this wind is not easy...dries out almost immediately.

On a brighter note; the fishman at the Sneem market gave us a large bag of fresh salmon. It went in the freezer and will be Easter dinner here.. and found a rather fine cauli in the garden last night.. well two of them but one left now. Sometimes folk are so kind; he knows the work we do. God bless the man!

One of those strange days yesterday when you remember how many crops occupy you for a year. Felled the last of the Sprouts and sowed the fresh ones. Cleared remnants of the Carrot bed and sowed the first three short rows, carrot cage enters its 8th season. Also moved some heeled in Parsnips from one place to another and sowed the new ones. Just remembered, sowed Broccoli and we are still eating last year's.

PS : when digging Leeks for dinner remembered sowed those yesterday too.

Dry even here in Wales but pleased to see that the Peas and Mangetout sown March 25th are just emerging. Real rain promised here tomorrow, so if the drizzle lets up I shall sow some more peas, maybe even sow some carrots.

While I was out yesterday, they spread muck in the field around the house...Boy, the stench...I think they have cleaned out the pits as this is.. the pits. With no wind or rain it is hanging heavy and asthma is threatening. I managed to plant out broad beans and the first tray of peas ( marrowfat) but it was just too much and getting too hard to breathe. Our local market gardens, The Hollies, are holding back on planting out until the weather settles so not doing more now. Garlic is coming up and so are the gladioli....

So much more ready to plant out and sow. Praying for rain to lay this stuff.

I hope the rain (and I think your must be getting some by now) has washed the slurry into the ground, Marigold! Yes, we occasionally get that smell here, too, when the slurry tanks are emptied after the cows are let loose on the fields again in spring. It sure is a revolting stink, but, no doubt, it's good for the pastures.

Drizzling here this evening, but I shall just settle down to read the Sunday papers after having cooked a meal for the whole family of 14 today - I am quite shattered.

Thankfully it has rained in the night. Muck spreading, this being beef and dairy country, is common in winter.. but this was beyond stinky. My lungs cannot take it,,, fair exchange as we get no traffic fumes here.

He always does these things when I am out!

The dogs were getting cabin fever and that is not a pretty sight; So they have had a good run and collie has had a good roll. We saw a large hare too; well I did but the dogs did not notice.

Well done wth the meal; hope you got to eat some!

Cooked a large piece of free fresh salmon here .. and rice and vegetables and felt.. stuffed!
