Harlequin Ladybird Survey

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

Just heard an item on GQT about the Harlequin Ladybird and the survey being undertaken.

Gardeners are invited / requested to take part and record any sightings.

Yes, I listened to that too. Sounds as if they're pretty hard to identify accurately. Apparently the most obvious clue is that they have brown legs - the number of spots can vary tremendously and the head markings are not definitive either.

It's worth taking a look at harlequin ladybird larvae photos as I think they are even easier to identify than the adults.

Harlequin larvae are more spiky. Is this survey still active as it was started in 2009

There's a photo here http://www.iwnhas.org/NewsArticles2009.html
