Hi To everyone,

We like watching the birds feeding through our kitchen window, the problem is as soon as we get close to window their off, do any of you know of something that can be attached to the window inside or out so that we do not scare them off, it also has to be safe so that they do not want them flying into the window.

Arnie, any of those bird silhouettes which you can buy, say, from RSPB catalogues or shops which are intended to stop birds from flying into your window, would do the trick, I think, because your birds would see those rather than you. Also, try not to move too suddenly, move stealthily instead.

Your feeder must be very close to the window for the birds to be scared off so quickly. Our feeder is about 15 feet away and the birds don't ever notice us. also, some birds are more nervous than others. The siskins (lots of them at the moment) let us get right up to the feeder before they fly off whereas bramblings are off at the slightest move towards them.

But isn't it strange how Jackdaws can see the slightest movement through glass while the others are unmoved.
