Walk trackers.

My Android mobile phone has a GPS and can access the internet, so earlier this week I installed an exercise tracking application.
It monitors your exercise, walk/run/cycle, and can then show you how fast you were, distance covered and a nice map of your route.
You can put a report on facebook, or just on the suppliers website for your own reference.

Slightly blown away by this.

Walked 5.92 miles in 1:55 cross country in mud, averaged 3.1mph. :D

I trust the "mud" was your own personal observation, Peter, and it didn't show up on your exercise tracking app - unless you dropped it, of course.

Sounds as if that thing might take the fun out of exercising!

No Monika, just on my boots and the dogs paws.

It has answered my own doubts about how far I go when out with the dog for long walks, which was good. It will do duty for a number of my regular routes and it also estimates the calories burnt.
