A tight squeeze!

Busy day here on Monday. Scottish Power are renewing many poles in the area - a nine month job. Whereas the original poles were erected by hand, nowadays it's all big machinery. Monday it was our turn - a big JCB edging in with the pole, the "small" digger squeezing through the gate into our field.

Scottsh Power? In Wales?
It looks like that digger has poached that field up good and proper. They did this round my way a few years ago and the digger operator didn't bother sorting the subsoil from the topsoil when he back-filled. It's still a mess.

Scottish Power took over Manweb (
English) and the pole crew are all
Irish (and b****y fine drivers at that!). Actually there is little mess all told, just round the pole and that's perched on the rocky river bank, so will soon recover

Hi Alan,
You do realize that OH will now know that you have enough land/room for him to pitch his tent
Regards

Reminds me of when they did one in the neighbours' garden. Turned out almost like that series of pictures in an Irish dock.
First they got bogged down - luckily it was near the road so they could try and pull it out with a tractor.

That failed so they brought up reinforcements.

When they finally pulled it out they left quite a mess in the garden and the hedge.
