Adam's Farm is always the bit of Countryfile that I try to watch and my daughter bought me the book for Christmas. Absolutely brilliant! It should be required reading in schools as part of the National Curriculum. If anyone is to revive the fortunes of the farming industry this guy is the one to do it.

Buy the book - give it as a Christmas/Birthday present. Spread the news!

Afternoon Colin, i quite agree, he really does get over what is important about farmimg these days, and in a very knowledgable and pleasant manner too.

In case you don't know, they have open days on the farm, as well as special events. Well worth a visit.

The Cotswold Farm Park is closed for the winter until 17th March. Pleased to see that Adam's dad, Joe Henson, founder of the Cotswold Farm Park, has just received his MBE for services to conservation.

That's great! Well deserved too! I'll have a look out for that book, sounds good.

I'm more inclined to watch Countryfile these days now that Clapping Boy has gone over to The One Show. Adam's a breath of fresh air, someone who genuinely knows his stuff. I think the Beeb are starting to get the message. Maybe now that Alesha's left Strictly we'll get Arlene back. I think it's too late to do anything about "Mumbling" Monty on GW, though.

I like Monty I dont want him to go anywhere, I find him much more interesting than previous people....

We stayed in the Cotswolds near Adam's farm in October and have ridden our mountain bikes all around the small roads which surround his farm. On one of the rides you cycle past a barn which is full of goats of every breed. They all looked happy and healthy. Even though these are probably not shown on the tv they are very well kept with clean bedding and the building was clean and tidy. So it is not just for tv, he really looks after his livestock.

We did attempt to go to the open farm whilst we were there. Unfortunately we arrived and so did a lot of small children and since we don't do small children and screaming and shouting we came away without going inside. Though I must say it was rather expensive to get in.

We watch the programme every week just to catch what he is doing this week.

Glad to see FelixLeiter's post. He's not clapping boy in our house - we call him Mr Nicccceee said in a scream. Not only does he have to try to be so nice to everyone it is the insincerity in this gesture.

The others seem genuine and Adam is excellent for his knowledge, welfare of his animals and evenly balanced presentation of the facts.
Even in crisis like when he's animals tested postitive to TB he did not take advantage, just calmy reported the facts which gave more credibility and in turn I was more sympathetic to his plight.
