There was some absolute drivel on the telly over the whole Festive season...not that I watched much of it....apart from the old stuff, like Morcambe and Wise and Dad's Army.
As for New Years Eve, we used to get good programmes years ago but the only thing I found remotely interesting was about the BeeGees....I had a good nostalgia fest watching that!
Football is an absolute no no at any time of the year for me...New Years Eve is NOT the time to televise sports, in my humble opinion.
I also found a programme about Roy Orbison on one of the digital channels which I found very interesting. I had forgotten just how much tragedy this unassuming man had had in his life.
I spent half an hour either side of midnight trying to reassure my new cat,( she is a 5 year old rescue cat, and I got her in September) who was terrified by all the blasted fireworks going off. She seemed worse on NYE than on November 5th for some reason, and it went on for hours that night round here.
Cheers

Checking back over the Christmas and New Year schedules I realise that one of the reasons the TV stayed off most of the time was the unrelenting diet of films about World War Two.
