Despite telling a new tenant that the water pipe ran under the edge of his plot he punctured it on his first day of digging.

The temporary repair was to cut off that trough on the end of the line.

Last week the council brought their digger up, no burials that week and excavated a trench under the track.for a replacement pipe. Needless to say we now have a fifty foot by two foot neolithic barrow up one side of the track as dug soil.fluffs up.

Gosh Peter, the newbie must have some long tines on his fork, if the pipe was in at the recommended depth.

Sadly when dear old Albert dealt with it he was at the stage of life where he wasn't up to doing the job properly but too proud to accept offers of help.

So no, it.was at one spit depth....

I've been trying to think of a use for your Neolithic Barrow, maybe some early lettuce, perhaps.

I never thought you'd be at a loss for ideas of things to do with barrows

Although looking like a grass track, underneath it is more like a traditional cart track, loads of stones including big flings. Jot really cultivatable.
