BSA 120 on my "Bantam"

After some extensive begging & pleading I am now in possession of a manual for my Bantam and also a spares booklet with exploded diagrams for the BSA 120 engine that powers it. To make my life complete I am now looking for the owners manual for the engine so that I can set the points correctly, top it up with the correct amount of oil etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Forgive me, but I thought a BSA Bantam was a motorbike? If it is, and I'm not totally crazy, could I suggest that you write a letter to Classic Motorcycle Mechanics magazine, as they are an invaluable source of information for this sort of thing... They don't have an online forum, but the website is...

It's me that’s going totally crazy.

My posting wasn't very clear, what I am in possession of is a "Howard Bantam" rotavator which is fitted with a BSA 120cc engine, these engines were produced by the industrial division of BSA and bear no relationship to the motorcycle engines.

There used to be some very helpful garden machinery experts on this message board, I just wondered if any of them might have a copy of the engine handbook.

Sorry for the confusion but you are right about the "BSA Bantam", it was a lightweight motorcycle built in the 50's & 60's, around the same time as my rotavator in fact, I think the name Bantam was used allot around that time.

I did discover this handy site... they stock and reproduce manuals for all sorts of military and commercial engines... it might be useful, although it might be quicker to simply email the owner!
