I was looking through one of those catalogues aimed at Senior citizens this morning and on a page headed "Thoughtful Christmas Gifts" was included a spray for removing stains from matresses!!!!!! Who would you send that to?
No idea, but I think it would have to be anonymously.
Remember how upset I was when I hit 50 and started getting stuff from Damart and offers of insurance for 'experienced careful drivers'.

Hi PLUMPUDDING
I thought I'd seen it all when I saw these advertised.

At least they might avoid mattress stains

It was an invitation to SAGA holidays that upset me and this week we had a flyer advertising simple IT courses for older people - cheek I used to deliver ICT courses for teachers and my husband used computers when they were main frame and needed punch cards.
Why must they assume that everyone past a certain age is IT illiterate?

I don't think they are presuming that everyone past a certain age is.

I had a similar experience. I was at the Gardener's World show 2 years ago and SAGA were giving free seeds in a saga shoulder bag with their literature, so what would you do? Well free seeds and bag is not worth rejecting so I had it.
Later, we were enquiring about something at a stall and he said the information was on their website - saw my bag - and added something about 'if I could access it'. My sister laughed and laughed because, being a teacher and IT literate, I could, and I was obviously put out. (How NOT to win customers.) I looked at the web site; it was quite poor - could have built a better one myself!!

I feel an awful lot of folks are very patronising to the elderly...and those of us who are heading that way
When my Mam was a lot healthier than she is now, I used to take her out in her wheelchair, for long walks, and to do her shopping. In those days, my Mam was almost blind but there was nowt wrong with her hearing! (I used to think she was a witch, when I was a kid, when she heard me muttering from the next room, after she had told me off
) I lost track of the times some well meaning (probably) person would speak to her in that loud sing song tone, usually reserved for children...and Mam would say, "It's my eyes I have a problem with young man/woman and there's bugger all wrong with my ears".
Now that I'm heading up towards 60 myself, I find some young shop assistants talk to me as if I'm daft...or deaf! Well, I'm a bit of each but I haven't totally lost the plot ..yet.
Cheers!

Happy with my lot
At least it seems to be strangers that are treating most of you like this.
