Sweet pepper 'Lany'

I have been growing sweet pepper 'Lany' for the first time this year. They have done very well with huge peppers which are just starting to go red. What intrigues me, though, is that the ones we have eaten green so far do not have any seeds in them! I have no intention in saving seeds (they are F1 hybrids) but I just wondered: would they have to be reproduced vegetatively? Any thoughts?

I'm ready to be mistaken, if you cut back the plants and keep them frost-free, they may well "overwinter" and produce again next year.
I have done this with other chilli plants. I see no reason why sweet peppers would behave in a different manner.

I think you can get sterile F1s.
