Who are bing and [bot]??

When looking at the users on line the names come up in green but then there are also some grey ones bing bot google ect , are these users if not what does it mean ......??
Sorry if its a daft question but Im just beening nosey :roll:

Anything with bot in the name is a robot web crawler or search engine indexer. Basically building the search index for the query engine.
Bing is Microsofts search engine, others are Google, Ask, etc.
Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.
