Morning Alan, i just knew you would find me something. :)

I do two of the gardens that are open, so it will be nice to get some feedback from the visitors. It's a shame i was unable to talk the other three gardens i do, to open .

They look some splendid sausages you found me, and all the tastier for being cooked in the open. :)

Likewise....all the best for the open day..

It is a bit far for a Sunday afternoon drive out for us...but I had given it some thought.
So I think the plan is to visit one of our work volunteers gardens and inspect their new addition vegetable garden in Sutton on Sea....there is a rather nice fish and chip shop nearby too :)
..and the next Sunday it is our turn....might have to be super glueing Rose petals back on this next week :?

Clive.

Hi All. The picture of sausages and the mention of Scouts brought back (mainly) happy memories of when I was a Cub Scout Leader....Backwoods cooking and the lads eating semi cooked/burnt sausages on sticks....eggy spuds ( a gross concoction of an egg in the middle of a potato, wrapped in foil and chucked in the camp fire)....choccy banana (ditto but using chocolate in a banana)....weekend camping trips when us leaders needed valium sandwiches to maintain equilibrium.....little Sammy wetting his sleeping bag again....the sixer being over assertive and causing a right rumpus in tent three at 1am, requiring demented leaders to referee and eject the worst offender for his pugilistic talents before an ambulance was needed......numerous requests for anthisan after little Jonas had yet another encounter with stinging nettles in the wood....tears and frustration from the losing 5-a-side soccer tournament team...glee when an ingenious camp gadget ( things made from sticks and twine) worked very well....happy faces around the camp fire singing their heads off or laughing fit to burst at yarn telling. Makes me wonder why I gave it up!!! Actually, it was alot of fun....when I was a girl, I wanted to join the Cubs but in those days, girls weren't allowed so I had to join the Brownies. I hated it! So, many years later, when my sons Cub Pack needed a leader, yours truly finally got her hearts desire to join the Cubs!!   and yes, I still have my woggle....

Dear Elaine, what a lovely story, and it did make me laugh. :)
Just what kids deserve, and need.

Elaine. Brought back memories of some 60 odd years ago, weekend camping in the scouts getting our cooking badges, my turn came, went into the grandly named supply tent, all that was left was custard powder and shredded wheat biscuits, made custard and poured over the shredded wheat, went down a treat, got my badge. I bet there are not many scouts who got a cooking badge that way, Gordon Ramsey, on your bike. :) :)
