Another fascinating photo and ll the more interesting because these birds are usually such solitary creatures. Not often you see them together like this. We're lucky if we see one of them, let alone two!

I thought you might be running out of the amazing type photos, Tigerburnie, but apparently I was very wrong....I don't mind being wrong, for the right reason....

I put in a lot of hours, sometimes taking no pictures, but I do like being in the countryside, often with a fishing rod, used to be with a gun, now more often than not with a camera. I am passing on the interest to my two smallest grandsons, hope it will give them a love of the out doors and the countryside rather than playing computer games(probably a vein hope).

Afternoon Tigerburnie, even if your two smallest Grandsons do get into playing computer games at sometime, once you have sown the seeds of the great outdoors, it will return to them at sometime in their lives...and that I am sure of.....

A hen Pheasant under some thick undergrowth, a shaft of sunlight popped through the clouds and I was able to get the shot.

Tiger , have you spotted Santa creeping around in the undergrowth anywhere yet?
You now seem to have spotted virtually everything else that walks , flies or swims !

Another brilliant photo Tiger! I see loads of these but only from the car or at a distance so you don't really appreciate the pattern of their feathers. Very pretty in their own right.
Cheers for posting these pics, very interesting. Maybe KG might want to do a non veg calendar with the wildlife of the UK - or maybe not as many of these would wreck your plot in a blink if not fortified.
