My rain record in Bedford shows 41 mm in March and April, the same as last year. Then 44mm in May [incl 6 on May 30] and so far 22 in June. There have been very few hard downpours; almost all steady drizzle in warm weather - perfect for blight, but hopefully too early for it to take serious effect.

We had in 50.9mm March in 24.1 mm April in 9.6 mm May and so far 18.8 mm in June. Just 1.3mm on 30 May.
We only started keeping records this year so I don't know how it compares with previous years.

There's a chilly old North Easterly blowing here abouts, the runner beans definately won't like that.

Cool old lot again this morning and still mighty breezy....but as the morning has progressed it has brightened, the wind has settled a bit and now it has just made it up to 60F.
...and one of the Broccoli cages at work is now strung and netted............

61F.....lovely Sunny now with a few fluffy white clouds...just needs a passing Spitfire to complete the scene..

...our regular one has not been around for a while now..??
