Yes, with digging all but done..rained off the last corner of last years Carrot ground...it will be time to look at some lawnmowers

I was greatljy cheered this morning. The weather is deliciously mild and after finding four dead frogs in our mini pond about ten days ago, I feared for the well being of our garden's frog population. However two of them must still be alive and well as overnight the first batch of frogspawn has appeared. Yippee! I shall have tadpoles again. No matter how old I get, the first sign of these little wrigglers every spring still delights me. I probably get as much pleasure out of seeing these little creatures appear as the bankers do out of their million pound bonuses.

Hello Snooky,
The engine in the video is just a size or two larger than those I used to deal with...
In fact back when I had a spell volunteering on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway..1979-85 the pistons that I used to see around the shed from the Sulzer diesel engined Class 24 where larger than the entire engines I was used to....themselves miniature to those that must be within the video monster...

Glad your frogs are still around Primrose.
I've been watching a pair of blackbirds making a nest in my bay tree this morning. The top is an 18 inch ball on a tall trunk so they should be safe from cats at least - just hope the weather improves.
We've had heavy rain all night and it is still pouring down, now mixed with big fat snow flakes. At least it has washed most of the snow off the ground so I should be able to finish digging - when it dries out enough to stand on.

It has been raining here all night and is still pouring down now. 
We are beginning to despair of ever getting the digging finished on the allotment and it will be panic stations when the land is dry enough to walk on. We have had a really bitterly cold spell and when the sun shone in a lovely blue sky the other day, it was wonderfully mild and our hopes soared!
It's all my fault the weather turned again....I told the sun how lovely it was to see him again. Within the hour, he had gone in and has stayed in
so I think I must have offended him in some way.......

Yes, this amount of rain is really annoying isn't? I almost sunk into our vegetable patch this morning when digging up some leeks and our soil is pretty free draining. The only consolation is that the water butts are all full to overflowing and we shouldn't be having any hosepipe bans imposed this summer. But when you're itching to get moving with Spring digging and time is limited, it's frustrating.
Even though I don't have as much vegetable growing space as I would really like in the garden, at least I can pop out and take advantage of short good weather slots whereas if I had to get myself dressed and kitted up for the allotment it would probably be raining again by the time I got there. Hopefully today's nice stiff breeze will dry things out a little.

You'll all hate me for saying this
We've had three fine, mild, almost springlike days here (rain only overnight). Good to get a few full days working outside. Crocuses opening today, but I fear the daffodils will not be in flower for Dewi Sant next Monday.

Sorry to say that I've just checked the forecast and we are promised more fine spring days over the weekend and into next week

You might like to consider this little property just about next door to us. It may look pricey, but it does have 75 acres and five cottages, so maybe you could split the cost with some other rained-off forum members. And it has been on the market for getting on for five years, so you could try an offer.
