Just stopped raining here, so everything has had a good drenching. It's a little nippy but only first thing in the morning & when the sun comes out there is a bit of warmth left in it. The dark mornings have snuck in much quicker than they disappear again!

Lovely day today with great views of the mountains. Cut the grass. Planted 60 garlic and 120 onions. Anybody grown the over Winter red called Rolein? The other 60 were Senshyu Yellow, should have been some Shakespeare but the order was delivered short.

27 years! That is a lot of commitment. Enjoy Dorset - it's a lovely out west.

I don't usually grow over wintering onions so can't help with that Geoff. I've been busy as well today. It's been lovely and sunny with a cold .wind.

I've picked a bucketfull of tomatoes and peppers and picked 8 1/2 lb of grapes. We've got a gallon of apple juice fermenting for cider. A proper harvest festival.

First frost of the season! The minimum thermometer temperature was 2C early this morning, but the car and greenhouse roof were covered in quite thickish ice! Another dry and very sunny day on the cards.

Continued to try and keep ahead of myself today while the sun shone . Cut down the autumn fruiting raspberries, weeded part of the veg patch and planted my elephant garlic.
Still have about a dozen decent sized peppers ripening on my outdoor potted plants
My problem these days is I seem to run out of energy before I run out of time! Frustrating!

Hi Primrose
<P>I usually cut my autumn raspberries in January or February, but if I can do it earlier, why not?
Garlic to go in. That's a helpful prompt. Thank you.
