Now this does really annoy me, (although some others might be so pleased to hear it)

There are times you start typing a reply to a post, or even want to start a new topic. You compose it in your mind as you type it, you alter it, you check it, you correct spelling errors you hit submit

and what happens !!!!

You've been timed out and logged off. The box appears with the user name and password fields. So you login again and find you've lost all that you had typed in.

Two options, start again or say ... ............ well you can guess that bit.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!

In the text before hitting Submit do <Ctrl><a> then do <Ctrl><c> where <Ctrl> means the Control key and so on.
This selects All and then Copies it.
If placed in your unfortunate position, restart the reply, but don't type and text after clicking in the response area/box just press <Ctrl><v> to paste what you copied earlier. On a windows pc you can use the mouse to the same effect and in android use long presses in the appropriate place for an options menu to appear.

Don't understand the timed out / logged out bit. I've left posts half written when the dinner gong has gone and come back later to finish off and post without any problems.

Thanks Peter,

Use OE so tend to just highlight, copy and then paste. Time it decides to wait before you find yourself logged out tends to vary. Can sometimes be quite quick

Just a case of not always remembering to copy before hitting submit.

Geoff,

I don't understand it either, its not consistent, there have been times when I have moved on to other sites, come back hours later and am still logged in, yet earlier this evening I typed out a reply and found it had logged me out when I hit submit.

Figurative gongs are cheap, I expect Cook has one.

This has nothing to do with meal times, OH just wants to play the yes/no interlude as he imitates Bob Danvers-Walker when friends call round

Hi KG Admin,

A couple of points:

I've just tried to find a way of contacting the magazine directly to provide some feedback/observations but couldn't find a 'how to contact link'. Any idea??

In looking for this I thought there would be something at the bottom of the page (where you normally find terms and conditions etc...), but nothing. Could it be my I pad?? However:

- what it made me realise is that you add new content month on month, you don't archive the previous months. It means that there is a huge number of articles to scroll through! Ok the first time, but maybe a bit tedious after the third time?? My I pad has a large memory but couldn't cope with the amount of articles/information trying to be displayed and eventually re freshed the page returning me to the top! This happened time and time again until I gave up.

- I then put a filter on to try and reduce the number of articles/amount of information being displayed. I eventually got to the bottom of the screen, but there were no contact details. I'm pretty sure it isn't one of the tabs in the top right??

As I said, it could be my computer - but I have good internet connection, large memory and an up date/and updated I pad.

Thanks in advance.

Pawty

Looks like that might be a good spot Pawty. Cant find a link either.

Big proviso though admin if a link is installed, please make it open in a new page, NOT by closing the existing open forum page.

Before you changed the Web site I used to have the forum showing posts for the past week, not just new posts, is there a way to still do this?

Well, I couldn't decide where to add this post, but looking back, decided this was the best place.......

I asked a question recently and I have a thick skin, but the answer was quite .... How do I put it....... Well I can see why people don't ask questions again... Anyway, I just wanted to say I was always told to ask questions because you can gaurentee someone's thinking the same thing ..... No question is a stupid question, especially when it comes to growing stuff.

To all out there - keep asking silly questions as you can gaurentee I'm thinking the same!

Hi Pawty
Which recent question are you referring to

Hi pa snip - rather not say as it doesn't really matter. I'm being daft (it wasn't something you said - you are always incredibly encouraging and make me laugh).

I just wanted to make the point that no question is silly.... I'm 38 And still learn something every day. So, to all the new people on the forum (which is great), ask away - I'm probably not the best person to help, but I'll learn something new!

Spent last night sowing bean seeds into pots. Would never have tried this so late in the season, but thanks to the encouragement of westi I'm giving it a go!
