Just enough to lay the dust in the open, but not enough to even reach the ground under trees.

We had light drizzle for most of the morning and then a decent downpour for a couple of hours this afternoon. Still a bit more to come down, I hope, but unless we get more I can't see this meaning more than a day or possibly two off from the watering. Still, better than nothing I suppose

Well, the rain here is getting tiresome - and it's cold

It rained heavily in the night and was very windy so I closed the polytunnel door, this morning I woke to bright sunshine and dashed up to open the pt as it was very damp and warm in there. It lookes like we are promised more heavy rain here today.

It has made the grass at the allotment grow really quickly and it now looks quite tatty with such long grass and the competition for the Best Allotment judging will be coming soon. If it stops long enough I will have to get the petrol strimmer out to cut the borders.

Some heavy showers here earlier and into this evening,nothing to get excited about,but enough to save me getting the watering can or the hosepipe out.

Heavy rain and thunder storms tonight

Still raining here and more to come. Is the rest of the summer going to turn out like the last three?

Rain penetration more than a spit here. High wind now playing havoc with my Peas due to be picked this weekend.

Hooray ! at last it's rained enough to make the ground diggable and I can dig up the rest of my salad spuds

Boo ! having harvested my shallots in baking sunshine last weekend and left them out to dry, they have spent the last 4 days getting more and more sodden. No room inside as my garlic is taking up space there.

And someone's just pointed out that today's St.Swithen's day

The rain has given way to very high winds here, ripping my courgettes to pieces

Fortunately our garden gazebo is anchored down with heavy metal weights otherwise it would be halfway across the village by now! But the climbing beans are being badly buffeted and one fence panel has been ripped out. I'm grateful for the 6 foot fence around our garden which is acting as a fairly good windbreak - as long as it stays intact!

We got a sharp shower yesterday evening...but any good done by the rain shower has been blown away.....

So fierce was it this afternoon that the ripe Tulamean Raspberries have been blown from their hulls? as if picked and thrown all over the garden..............

Evening Clive, how are your tall peas taking to this wind?

Mine are just about hanging on in there, but i did get a bit sea sick earlier picking a bucketful, that swaying action really got to me.

We have been picking some Radeo this evening and Mum has just been shelling them...
They have moved fast with the dry and the foliage is quite light both in colour and strength this year due again the dry..
The row is actually a little sheltered by the 7ft tall Raspberries...that haven't all got picked due to me being at work rather a lot, my Dad being unable to manage to get across the garden, and Mum only being little..and shrinking further........
