I wonder if Alan burnt himself out, with such a vigorous start to the day. :)

And i've had one of those very satisfying days, completing a couple of big jobs and also a lot of the little ones that often gets missed.

Had a day driving around the county...up to Louth to pick up some lawn edger wheels.... One John Deere agent had said obsolete not available..and even phoned me up specially to tell me. I then went on JD online parts systems and they were shown as still available....ordered them from alternative JD agent a couple of weeks back..on a stock order...the parts were available....hey presto set of wheels. :) ..and 10% discount too...
Oh well, one agents loss is anothers gain. ...........

Then a visit to a local nursery...including scones and tea....thence to local sounding but really large garden centre chain...standard Rose purchased for work...
In to work to check watering in greenhouse..then to Aunt and Uncles to look at a "rollator" walker that they have got... Dad had a test run with this as he really now needs one... then to another local garden centre to look at one but it was much lighter duty...so we now search out a similar one to my Aunts...

Lawn mowed once back home.....

I forgot to add.....

.....3 Swallows sighted at work yesterday morning. :) ..

...and on the way home 4 feed bags of best Horse collected from the stables and now on the compost heap here.. :)

..and tonight a walk round with the middle size Wolf 3 tine cultivator. :)

...meanwhile, not so positive..... had to cover up the Spring Cabbages, Pixie, with fleece after sustained Pigeon attack.

..Sounds like you acheived more actual gardening though....

Plenty motorcycles about today....must be the MCN Butlins weekend.??

Also noted a Lincs Police car today that is unmarked black car on drivers side..and conventionally striped marked white Police car on passenger side. :? :?

Well I didn't run up Snowdon, if that's what you mean. I did get all my tomatoes out of the propagator and set up in trays with a lot more room between the pots, pot on my peppers and chilies, sow beans, courgettes, pumpkins, herbs, calabrese, cucumbers, beetroot. Then at 11 I rested from my labours and enjoyed a welcome glass of white wine in the sunshine.

Today it's dull and raining - very welcome :)

Dear Doneigging, thankyou for taking the trouble to ask, well, it has been rather a good day indeed, got some cabbage planted, then it rained so watered them in.

Then just pottered about potting up and other little jobs, that just made the day seem to fly by. :)

Hope yours was as equally fulfilling for you. :)

Have had yet another run to a garden centre today....it rained heavy on route..
...enough back home to wet the top of the ground 3/4" deep...so a great help to seedling Beet, Radish, Carrot etc.

..and this afternoon got some stakes along the Broad Bean row...and the first string round...the Beans have 6" to go to reach the string but anyway it's there ready.

Ordered Dad a Roma heavy duty Rollator to hopefully help him get down the garden in his Foreman Gardener role.....and also ordered him some Satin Sheets...
Well actually, some mixed material sheets...shiny satin at the top but regular material at the foot....to help him turn over in bed ref his Parkinsons troubles...

Another brief sharp shower this evening...and a rumble of thunder...

Clive.

Thank you Old H'...he certainly seemed to get on quite well with my Aunts wheeled walker and that was with its handlebars set low rather than adjusted for his 6' 4"...
