Good question OH. I sometimetimes wondered if if my carrots and potatoes suffered pain when they were chopped up and thrown in boiling water. But if the human race was that delicate about pain and suffering we would all die of starvation. Where do you draw the line on these issues?

I’m sure if you cut veg up quickly, they won’t suffer too much…..

My knee is doing good according to the physio I seen on Wednesday I don’t go back till near the end of April unless I have a problem then just go in and ask to be seen, I’ve had the staples out and five small strips of sticking plaster with the instructions to leave them alone when the last one falls off I can have a shower each day it seems to get easier, I got talking to a fellow patient when I went in last Wednesday he had the operation same day as myself he had already been back after being sent home as he was worried about how much is leg had swelled up they left his plaster on told him to go in on Monday to have it removed seems I’m doing ok

That's encouraging news Robo. Am sure you're glad to slowly be having this episode behind you although we'll let you off the next London Marathon,.

Has anyone seen the advert on the t.v, Race for life, Cancer research uk….well I noticed there was one group called, ‘Team Monika’, a long shot but, I wonder if it is for our Monika….

I typed a reply to this hours ago but no sign. Glad it's going well Robo. My wife has walked over a mile several times and is back driving after her op on 10th January, she thinks they are brilliant. She showered by wrapping her leg in cling film.

OH! Very funny, not especially PC though in the current climate! But I suspect you will be OK as the insects, mammals & other plants will just take advantage so more of a waste not kind of scenario!

Alan T on the radio this morning, made me laugh as he said, “when you sow Spaghetti Squash seeds, dip the seed in tomato sauce before sowing them, this will make them so much tastier when harvested”…..made me smile.
He is one bloke, that really does deserve a Knighthood!

Big rain again & plot sodden but tunnel nearly ready for when the plants are. I sowed way too many celery last year so must control that urge, Biggest positive I finally managed to get the red sorrel out it as self seeded in the wrong spot, I have been digging bits out every year but it just grows back, hopefully not again as it's one huge hole left. My cuttings from the watercress have taken finally but so have the seeds...hmm, obvs going to be my celery replacement but some should like the soggy bed!
Anything else you can suggest I sow in this bed that will tolerate it? It does slowly drain now over a couple of days & is fine without incessant rain so it won't be sodden all the time - hopefully!

Well it’s that time of the year again, glasshouses full, cold frames full and predicted frosts for the next few nights….so shuffling a few things around, to make a little more room…

I think every year an unexpected cold spell puts the mockers on well laid plans.

Dear Primrose, started quite a lot of veg of early this year, to try and get some early crops and save some money….I can always knock some frames up quickly, if I have too!
Me and wisdom have never got on very well…
Just potted 168 Chrysanthemum cuttings on….so even less room now.
I would have thought any root crops would have been fine, Westi.
