I had a large order with DT Brown, including seeds of course but also a heavy net-covered tunnel and other netting, and everything was P&P free!

Saw the first honey bee today, a wren was singing and a great potted woodpecker drummed. Much more important, though: the garden is tidy at last and the mini skip full to the top, ready to be collected.

Probably won't be long before the first report of frogspawn, but none here !

Just weeded around my 15 fruit trees, not the nicest of jobs but, once done it's very satisfying....

Going to squeeze in one more burn of the last raspberry canes tomorrow then batten down the hatches for the 80mph gusts forecast for the weekend down there. But I have lots of things I can sow indoors & transfer down to the tunnel later or pop in the propagator & spuds need to be out of the netting & start chitting. I have KG mag to read yet as well, & fortunately the 6 nations as started.

I think among this mix will be one happy Westi!

Westi, I did the raspberry canes earlier this week. Cut one day, burnt the next. My pile of woody material is quite big enoug already, and the ash will be useful for the onions.

I notice that both Unwins & Marshalls are sending out identicle emails.

A sharp frost first thing but, it has now turned out lovey so, going to make a start on pruning the fruit trees. Going to be quite ruthless on some of them, as i'm fed up with trying to mow under the lowest branches...

It is nice now the sun has come out.
Having become really grumpy early (a host of minor irritations) I have now tidied the garage (nearly enough space to get the car back in) and decided to get rid of a lot of old stuff. Phew!

Stephen, as soon as you get rid of that old stuff, you will need something out of it...it's just the way it goes...

The winter flowering heathers in our neighbour's garden are absolutely covered with excited honey bees today!

Seen two huge Black Bumble Bees over the allotment today and the Birds are singing their hearts out...got an awful feeling we haven't seen the end of Winter, by any means...

ha! yes, that's quite tiresome, especially if you don't see one, and it bashes you on the head!

No doubt OH. But unless you can find it, it is as good as in the bin.

Hope I am not jumping the gun. But since I installed the sonic cat scarer I haven't been visited by my feline friends.
