All the best, OH, things should improve slightly over the weekend, they say. My No 1 son, the gardener, has been mainly shovelling snow the last few days - no gardening possible.

We can't get to the allotment - the sunken lane which leads to it is completely filled with snow, blown off the adjoining cricket field. And the cricket season is supposed to start in three weeks' time! Well, you never know, it might suddenly turn ....

Thoughts are with you OH. Can't be easy when you are at the whim of Mother Nature! I'm sure your experience will see you through!

All the Best

yes - try to keep smiling OH. There is one good thing about all of this. None of the plants I have in the greenhouse will need hardening off!

I certainly wasn't out to get a sympathy vote, just seconding Primrose's views on outdoor workers. But as always, members lend kind words of support, and that is very much appreciated indeed, so thank you.

Anyway i'm a born survivor! :)

Plenty to do down here if you're at a loose end OH :D

No snow, just the biting wind all the time. If you're still undecided, I'll through in the view of the power station for free

Morning PJ, the view of the power station is tempting me, i must admit. :)

I think the most frustrating thing at the moment is, i have got a 4 acre field to fence and a stable base to put in, that i could be getting on with.
But the person is waiting for a lease to be finalized.

And yes, i know what's going to happen, the lease will come through, the weather will turn, and then i will not know what way to turn.
Just how i like it. :)

OH, if that happens you'll just have to recruit The Cook and get her to widen her skill base ! (Tell her the additional skills will look good on her CV). And then run.........!

OH - don't ask cook!!!! You want your dinner don't you??

Weather will eventually settle & you will get work done. Expect your client hasn't even poked his/her nose out of doors to know what you have or haven't done!

Just finished my wednesday morning garden, had to take a leaning ash tree down that was over a garage. And wednesday morning means freshly baked cake, sponge this morning, and very nice it was too.... :)

Much better here today. Nice and sunny all day and a heady 5.5 deg at lunch time :D

Still got that cold wind though

Snow flurries here all day but at least not much accumulated, maximum temperature 2 degrees. There are still huge snow drifts in some places which will take some thawing.

According to the BBC weatherman, this cold weather is likely to stay for another two weeks - not nice. And the sun is so lovely and strong when it does come out, the greenhouse temperature shoots up immediately.

We are still driving out through a single track road between snow walls. Three of us met two on the way home this afternoon so the two reversed a hundred yards or so! Two trips out to Colne this week, the long way round via M6 and M65, plenty drifts still beside roads. Collected new car Monday and went back to resolve a boot issue today.
If it goes on to the end of April will have a lot of stuff hanging about. Frosts have only been just below zero so tunnel has stayed just above zero so things appear to be growing as it gets rapidly very pleasant in there when the sun comes out.

I'm so excited, there has been a mistle thrush in the front garden. I've been waiting many years for one to return, so i'm very pleased indeed. :)

Maybe things are on the up. :)
