A quick image taken Sunday morning of our Garden.

We've had roughly 5 inches in total, with some more falling Sunday night.
Glorious winter sunshine this morning though :)

I walked to the allotment this morning at the other end of the village and was the first person to be there after last night's heavy snowfall. Everything was "deep and crisp and even", wonderful. Picked a few sprouts and picked a few kale leaves, just to make a "green soup" (potato, spouts and kale). Everything look snugly warm under a snow blanket, so I didn't disturb anything.

The frost (minus 8 on Saturday night) should kill a few bugs.

The snowplough came this afternoon and cleared our road, so we should be able to get the car out tomorrow, if we don't get another lot of snow overnight. Must deliver some Christmas presents to grandchildren before Friday.

So far only one sighting of snow here - Saturday morning, light covering gone by evening. Still frosty, but promise of sunshine and higher temperatures over Christmas :D

My one and a half hour commute took over four hours last night.
Semi-stationary traffic on all major roads, turning the wet snow into packed corrugated ice.

The contrast between the white vans, BMW's and Mercedes thinking that "as I have got going I can go fast" then whizzing past nose-to-tail on the dual carriageway and the "it's so dangerous I must drive at walking pace" overcautious people spinning their driving wheels everywhere.
Got scared only once and that was in London when stopping at the end of a side road I did not stop, :!: but slid gently into the main road off the brick-paved speed hump, thankfully it was empty at the time.

After a trek on the A10 and finding the A120 solid from the roundabout I ended up taking to unlisted roads in my Land Rover, where I saw very few vehicles and drove on clean snow with the tracks of the odd preceeding vehicle for company, it was like an extended test drive for all the fancy electronic aids. When I had to cross or use main roads I was held up, but when I got to my home town the streets were largely empty, this was despite the gridlocked bypass.

Positively balmy here this morning at 30.0F showing on weather station thingy...it made it to the heights of 33F yesterday evening during a brief spell of snowy drizzle.....

Pleased I only get to commute 5 miles....that is enough for me even on a good day after a day in the gardens....

Just made it back from work, cut short as the road in front of the house I work at started to fill in.   I got a phone call from my OH telling me to set off and I got in a bit of a panic. Then as I was getting in to my car in the blizzard I dropped the house key  into the snow and had to spend five very fraught minutes trying to find it. Used loads of new words Luckily I managed to find it. But I did have an OMG moment. Nicely back home now. But I dont know why we as a country grind to a halt when we have a small amount of snow (we have about 6 inches)

Dear Clive, do you have a different gravitational pull to the rest of us, our icicles always hang straight down. :)

Looks more like an "L" shaped slab has slid, cracked and tried to fall to ground but the icicles forming the bottom of the "L" have propped off against the window.
