Dear Garden_serf, no thinning hair here, a good head of hair on top.
See you in a few minutes Old Codger, let the fencing commence.

OH, They are paintings by one of my favourite artists, Beryl Cook. She died in May 2008, aged 81, and will be greatly missed. Her way of looking at life was full of laughter and this was reflected in her paintings.

Dear garden_serf, thankyou for replying with that most interesting link.
I must admit i feel a touch guilty that i have never heard of her or seen her work before, but the arts are not one of my strong points in life.
It seems as if Beryl and myself would have got on very well if we had crossed paths, as thats very much my outlook on life, full of laughter, just incase you hadn't noticed

I have noticed!! But nicely so.
I am pleased to have been able to introduce you to her & her work.
Maybe you can help me. Is there supposed to be a 'New Topic' button in News & Views? I wanted to post a new topic but cannot, due to there being no button
. Is it a restricted area to new News & Views?

Dear garden_serf, this is a question for Chantal or Tigger i'm afraid, as i'm no wiser than you, on why this should be.

OH...I have posted to ask about it in Online/Website help. It may be an error or it may be intentional. I know not what. Thankyou anyway.

Hello there one and all..
I trust we all had a good Christmas with much fun and laughter (my pirate impression with my niece and nephew seems to have gone down quite a treat, and no jibes about the dodgy limp or rather too large newspaper hat!)
Well I awoke Christmas morning to find my stocking filled with two bags of seed potatoes (Charlotte and Maris Piper), a solar powered shed light, a seed tray stand and a potting bench for the greenhouse (once it's been moved and I have the glass back in). Not to mention the fine pair of new Wellington boots!
Mrs Magic Beans is a very good lady!
Happy New Year to one and all!

Like you OH I much prefer the Y-handle. Its a matter of personal preference I suppose but I find them much more comfortable to use and easier on the wrist. Don't like plastic handles either - much prefer the all wood ones but then I am a fussy old John.
