Island Ready Sea Salted Crisps, so now we have two of you planning how to make a fortune as a result of being on the Island.
Here I was working out the concept and in the process I missed out on my percentage.

What a plonker, I won't be a millionaire by this time next year

These north east winds sound like tradewinds I'm guessing our island is one of the lesser Antilles group of sub tropical islands

the Island wind is currently NW 26mph, location guess wrong. Get back to making shelter & crisps. :D

The last inhabitants - really, really left or kind of still there? Just thinking of where to site the veg patch. If the blood & bone is there, I can find the fish! ;) Anyway must be off beach combing - got an island patch to clear, & a beacon light to set up for my rescue, so best start the fires!

Totally feft, gone, departed, sailed off in yonder mist, mid 1800's. buildings now derelict.

Somewhere there may be some traces of animal manure I would have thought, perhaps not very much though

Weekend weather for your Isle looks to be grey today, but no rain. Tomorrow dry & sunny.
Temperatures around 7 > 8.

Wind ENE biting 20+ mph

Temperature should rise during week and wind switch to ESE then Southerly

GOOD NEWS.
100 x 2kg bag of potatoes has beached, up to you to rescue them

Looked for the potatoes yesterday but was informed that they were leaving Scotland today. Perhaps Tigerbuenie can give them a shove. I presume they will be Golden Wonder (for making crisps) and the salt will have soaked into them.
Northern hemisphere Ireland, sorry, island, as the warmest part is in the South West, re. growing Lemon Grass.

Hi Gerry, good bit of input there, thanks.

The first lot of potatoes seen floating, which was a few posts back, were indeed saturated by salt water. These bags floated in on a pallet and are free of major saturation

(They may be Winston, useful for fighting conditions on the beaches)

I'm foraging for vitamins just now whilst waiting for my seeds to sprout, plenty of shellfish, fish, sea weed(which is quite tasty) to catch. Found some standing fresh water which was weed fringed, so the roots were a welcome source of carbs till the newly planted tatties are ready.

So watercress will be on my list of things to forage, good source of vitamins and iron, I'll be both lighter and healthier after this castaway adventure. Wonder if there's a run of Salmon or Seatrout in the stream, will have to practice being a grizzly bear if there is lol.

The honest answer to fish running upstream is I don't know.

Eels maybe. But frankly doubt it
Beach / rock fishing may be only option
