I have just seen this post. It looks as though I have overdone it - see below.

Not an allotment but my garden in May 2010. I'd forgotten about this, such a beautiful day I'm continuing with compiling my photo index. Taken from a scan of a commercial aerial photograph. Quite a lot has changed since then. On the veg plot I've put up a polytunnel that takes up 1½ beds top right. The rough banking to the right of the top grass has been graded, another flight of steps added and planted with Heathers. The upper small pond has been filled in and flagged over. There is a slightly bigger area to the right of the photograph that includes the orchard and a small wood. You can see the quality of land I started with by looking at the field but you can't see that under the top grass is a 60' square concrete slurry pit.

From memory Geoff is on quite a slope.

Aerial view lies! Yes, quite a slope. 3' wall drop between grass and veg and veg slopes away and left to right, which was interesting when erecting the tunnel. Spot the flight of steps by the Heathers for the drop to the lower grass (we call it the middle grass as it drops away again to right out of shot) which also slopes quite a lot. You can spot it on Google with you follow through the weather link.

Talking about aerial photos, someone flew a drone quite low over my garden and house last week. It was rather creepy and just flew in a straight line so I don't know where it came from or ended up. Should they be licensed and can anyone buy one?

You cannot fly within 50 metres of anybody's property without their permission, I think, based on a half heard story on the science programme this afternoon. It was about filming but as most drones seem to have cameras.

I had an area of the plot which I haven't used as the drainage is a bit poor. Two days of work and this is the result - before and after.
