What a clever idea. My parents used to have something similar on the fridge that lists all their problems and medications in case of an emergency in the home.

My burning issue today was how long extra to allow myself to get dressed this morning! I cut back the hedge row at the back of lottie as the farmer behind had trimmed it his side so it looked a mess. I left my pruning saw at home & some one nicked my hacksaw so being a determined fool I ploughed on with my long handled shears cutting through branches much too thick!

I feel like I've been at the gym, all that squeezing the handles together was a far better workout but I'm no gym junkie & paying the price! Had to go for the cardigan over the pullover as far too painful raising my arms! ....and I still haven't finished but will be recruiting hubby into doing that!

I certainly wouldn't put my address in a visible tax disc holder.
Any potential burglar, on seeing my vehicle in a car park somewhere would know I was not at home and go straight round and ransack the house. That's akin to posting your holiday dates on Facebook!

Totally agree with you Primrose,

however if you look again at what Malvern Cops have produced it does suggest that if next of kin is same address then leave space blank.

Personally I have put 'As per vehicle registration' in that space and have left phone number blank as well. I also put only the month and year of birth.

What is probably most useful information to emergency services is immediate availability of medical matters.

Most importantly the sections you refer to are not visible once the discs have been folded into the holder properly

I agree with Primrose.

Today's main job is taking out a broken pane of glass in the downstairs door and replacing it with some plywood. I had dropped a log and it had to fall onto the door instead of any other direction.

So far I've been rained off five times and I've still to cut the board and fit it.

You could consider it a large cat-flap...? Sod's law though when something like that happens and you can see it going to do it and can't get there quick enough. Hope you're sealed in nice and tight now.

It would be rather draughty MW . I've had another go at it this afternoon and got the wood in so just need to put some beading over the join. Got soaked through in the gale force wind and rain though. My joinery skills are rather limited and the mitred corners on the beading may end up as straight edges as they all seem slightly different angles!

Good luck with mitred joints PP! My woodworking skills are a little on the rustic or characterful side as well

I remember we once decided to put some DIY ceiling coving up in our bedrooms. It looked a fairly simple job until it came to trying to match up the corner joints ! My husband just couldn't get it right and we had to call it a professional. He just laughed and said that most of his business came from people who thought they could do it themselves until they tried to join up the corners!

Primrose, it is easy to mitre coving all you need is a mitre block we used to make them out of 2 bits of skirting and a short lenght of 3 x 2 timber, what you have to do it treat the coving as if it was a square block instead of just 2 sides you must hold the coving so as the 1of the 2 flat surfaces is square to the bench or table you are cutting on it is easier to show some one than writing it down, if you mark the plumb cut on the back of one of the flat sides and the mitre cut on the other hold the coving so as the plumb mark is plumb and the flat side with the mitre mark on it horizontal then you will get a true mitre most people make the mistake of lying the coving with the concaved side flat on the bench that will not give you a true mitre, hope this makes sence

Has anybody else found the forum board pages to be slow in loading in the last week or so.

Seems to 'hang' for a while, sometimes longer than others. Not happening on my Internet in general, just on here.

Anyone else experiencing it ?
