I planted out 54 pots of peas today, and just over 400 shallots yesterday, seems nice to be getting a few things in the ground.

Pea soup er outside at the moment.

Shouldn't be praying for any more rain but waiting to test the efficiency of a new,y installed water yesterday. After all the recent torrential rain perhaps we have just missed the boat and are now heading for a drought

******ing water stopcock handle sheared off when I went to turn the water on. Excavated the stopcock, removing the pipe/housing to try spanners on the stub - the O in the handle split.

No luck sadly.

Finished one area of digging and weeded about two rod.

For every bad thing Peter, there is always a good thing......

I spent most of the day tidying my greenhouse at home and sowing some more seeds. I can't wait to get to the allotment today, so much to do and the perfect weather to do it

Had a funny sort of a day today, started off early over the allotment, clearing some leeks then digging the vacant ground. Then cleared the old cauli and Purple sprouter stalks. A total job change then, went off to help roof a large farm building. After that there was just time to weed between the spring cabbge plants and winter onions, so it looks fairly tidy all in all.
Just the greenhouses to water in a little while, and that will be about it for today.

What has everyone else managed to get done today?

I managed to plant my last 2 rows of early patatoes thats all my 10 rows done now next is to prepare my broadbean patch

19.5 degrees on lottie! Fantastic, everyone was down there so lots of chat & laughs.

Forked over some beds & put some carrot, radish, beetroot, spring onions, rockets - & even risked some cut & come sowing as soil was pretty warm. All now fleeced & tucked in!

Then weeded & weeded & weeded & .........! But lottie 2 only has one more area near the compost to hoe then is finished! And lottie 1 has just the leek bed to weed after I heel them in elsewhere & the winter brassica beds, the purple sprouting is fine but all the cabbages are bolting & I've got my fingers crossed for my last cauliflower!

AND!!! Found my first asparagus spear is just popping it's little top through.

Fair few put in appearance at allotments today, none apart from me and Stan managed more than a couple of hours and not as many people as I'd expected given the delightful weather. Apart from rewarding Max with a ball throwing session for good behaviour while tied to a pallet watching his owner garden, I've spent from half ten to five forty-five there and weeded five rod with a trowel, filling two compost bins with the results..

Pottered a bit in the greenhouse and tunnel then watched the miserable dark cold drizzle all day.
