Just seen the weather for tomorrow, looks as if it will be straw-hat and suncream. Well that might be over-doing it a little, but it sure looks like it's going to be nice.

We have showers forecast here, so will be keeping my raincoat on

First time in several days that the weather has warmed up enough during the day for our garden to actually be frost free

In fact the little weather station monitor which we have in our kitchen - the sender part is on the back wall of the house - shows a heady 6 degrees outside at the moment

Mind you 'snips'll be nice and tasty on Sunday (provided, that is, the frost stays away and I can actually get them out of the ground)

Dear Donedigging, i hope it's not the pvc one with the awkward buttons, is it!

I actually have 2 wash loads outside on the whirly-gig, drying!!!!

Well, ok, maybe 'drying' is a bit optimistic but if it comes back in 'damp' rather than 'dripping' then that'll be an improvement and will cut down the amount of time damp clothes are hanging above the Rayburn

Dear VPM, there's nothing wrong in being a little optimistic once in a while, it's done me no harm so far.

Picked some Brussels, savoy, cabbage, leeks, cauli, carrots and some kale, from over the allotments this afternoon, so feel rather pleased.
Do wish it would dry out a little though, so i can do some more digging.

We have just had such a laugh here at home.

Cook has been stomping about looking for a word search book she bought wednesday. After much thought it turned out she had put it on the table where i had been wrapping Christmas presents. Yes you have guessed it, i had wrapped it up, but the story doesn't end there, i somehow managed to wrap it up without really thinking about it, but even worse, i had put a label on the present, from myself to cook.

Now i think this story might get brought up over many Christmas's to come.

Good Try OH! But at least you're wrapping - I wrapped my own pressie today - thankfully I always give a list as I really am married to the only man to give you something absolutely useless & unwanted. I even have to define the list - ie: aisle number, product code etc. An example - I said white towelling bathrobe (sounds easy yes ) - I got a blue 'dry clean only' fluffy acrylic granny dressing gown about 4 sizes too big!

Have drawn the line at wrapping my new incinerator though!

Dear Westi, that has made me feel a lot better, thank you.

Looked out of South facing bedroom window this morning. Haven't seen such a crimson sky for yonks. Don't bode well for today. Noticed it has gone now.

Cook was preparing some stuffing earlier, she was using a hand blender to chop some chesnuts when a few got stuck in the blades. So fingers went delving in to retrieve them, only to squash the on button.

After a lot of yelling, and not letting me look for ages, she luckily escaped with only two deep, but very clean cuts, so they should heal very quickly.
A very lucky girl indeed.

I did say, (after things had calmed a little), i hope that wasn't meant to be a vegetarian stuffing. I did have to beat a hasty retreat.

I'm loving your Cook - just my reaction - don't look before me & I'm not ready yet! Must have really hurt - can you cook the turkey - might have to! (How is she going to lift the turkey out of the oven for a start )
