Mayo and Marmite mixed is something to savour ..stunning in a sarny with iceberg lettuce and cheddar.

A school friend used to take white bread, marmite and sliced tomato sandwiches to school.

Not cos he liked them, but cos no one would steal them from him, strange that eh?
Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.

Here you all are, discussing whether or not you like the taste or not.

It's not just whether you like it or not.

Sounds pretty revolting to me :(

No doubt there are worse things to eat but I'd be hounded off the forum as a food pervert if I mentioned them

Apparently it is popular in South Africa - can't say I've ever thought of South African food as a major world cuisine

I have a jar of Marmite with Guiness in the cupboard. Bought it several years ago. Not sure if I will like it or not.
Anyone tried it?

Beryl.

I must definitely try some of that Marmite Cheese spread if it really is "for real" and not a marketing gimmick.
It would be great for spreading on all those surplus bits of pastry, rolling up into a Swiss Roll shape and making savoury catherine pin wheels.

No...can't bear the stuff. The telly advert where a lad almost throws up after kissing his lass when she has just eaten Marmite, is spot on for me!
Cheers.
Happy with my lot
