Another lovely sunny and dry day, but oh, the north wind! Vicious or what!

Dear Monika, sounds as if you have faired better then us, we have had the cold wind plus, nonstop rain all day.

Just been to shut Old Codgers chickens up for the night, and it feels more like November out there.

A grey old morning out there this morning, i do hope we get to see some sunshine today.

My St George runner beans, as brave as they are, need a little warmth on their leaves. :)

Another fine sunny day in prospect here. But I would prefer some warmer nights and a drop of rain. Might be moving tomatoes inside again if the forecast ground frost comes for the next few nights.

Just checked outside. +2.5 in the polytunnel, frost on the grass :( :(
And it's set to go on for the next four nights.

I wouldn't be surprised, if we have had more frosts this Winter/Spring, than in the previous six years put together.

At least it's Sunday, i love Sundays. :)

Yes, OH, Sundays are great, you feel you don't have to do things - after all, it's a day of rest.

I usually do a lot of gardening on Saturday, but on Sunday it's a case of cooking the Sunday lunch and usually two or three pots of soup for the week (today: leek and potato, vegetable soup with rice and lentil and red pepper soup), after lunch a short kip in the chair and then reading the Sunday papers. We get three of them and work our way through them, well, the parts that are of interest to us!

By the way, another bone dry, cold and mainly sunny day!

Frost forecast for Staffs Moorlands Monday and Tuesday nights. Cold here, overcast, northerly wind.

I blame global warming. Not heard much from them recently have we?

Cloudy and milder here this morning, but 0C likely tonight and tomorrow. So I'll be bringing the tomatoes inside yet again :(

No sign of the forecast ground frost here. Only down to 2C and now 6C. Colder night forecast for tonight, though.

Got away with Potatoes at home here...the Lady Christl that I had hilled last night were white over as were the ridges....I ran some water over the frost and all is well... ...so far....

At work the Premiere that are 12" high on the South Border along with Lady Christl about 6" escaped ok thankfully...they are in the shade early on...

...but the Kestrel that were through about 2" in the middle of the garden caught it and are blackened....

I have some pots of Premiere that should be ready in the new back greenhouse....as and when a call comes for these from the House..I will give them a try...

Clive.

Minus 3 here this morning with frost not just on roofs and cars but also all over the grass and beds. Luckily, we were well warned and we earthed up the potatoes on the allotment, covered up the potatoes in pots and bags at home and also any other touchy plants. A few stray potato leaves and one of the lilies in pots have succumbed and even the new tips of some shrubs. The same frost is due tonight, so another evening of using fleece, bubble plastic and newspapers!

Snow forecast for tonight, too. Looks like warmer weather for the weekend and then back to winter! And we are still desperately short of water, no decent rainfall now since early April.
