I haven't seen episode three yet but I think the programme is inappropriately named. It seemed to want to go into Hugh F - W territory with the foraging - what had that to do with edible gardening. Then making nettle beer that seemed a disaster. It just seems to want to be trendy Also going for a retro look too with the lapses into black and white which I supposed is trendy. The programme seems to have little real substance all parties and I have a friend who ... Maybe my expectations were too high - I expected a sort of updated Geoff Hamilton's ornamental kitchen garden.

I agree the dog is the star - the number of shots of him/her seems to emphasise the lack of gardening content though.

I would rather they put on "The Victorian Garden" again.

Like Alys used a 250 gramme pack dried peas(Leo),cost 36 pence, to grow pea shoots for salads.they are up and away! And cheap too!!

I've only remembered to watch this programme twice - not sure how many have been on.

I find the lapses into black and white and camera work rather irritating, but it is nice to see what a mess a garden presenter's garden looks and what the ideas are behind it. And it should make new gardeners brave enough to have a go without being overwhelmed with having everything in straight lines and neat and tidy. Shove it in anywhere it will go and try and remember where you put it when you want to harvest the crop is quite good fun. It will confuse more than just the butterflies and bugs. "Now where did I plant the beetroot, I know I put it somewhere?" I did actually lose about 20 beetroot plants last summer and found some lovely large tender roots when other things had been harvested, so it was a nice surprise and there were enough to make a few jars of pickled beetroot too.

Its quite a pleasant programme and funny to see her cycling to cadge stuff off George on the allotment.
