Billy Connelly always says, that there's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing! Not sure this applies with all the rain we've had?

Dear Catherine, I have only justseen this thread - don't know why I missed it before. It seems to tie in with your later one.
I have had acupuncture in the past and found it beneficial. A good acupuncturist, however, will treat you holistically - so don't be surprised if [s]he asks you all sorts of questions which appear to have little or nothing to do with your back or your physical condition. many acupuncturists work on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine [TCM] and need to get a sense of you before treating you. The idea is to release energy flows through pathways called meridians.
You will probably need a nuber of sessions, so don't expect immediate results. You might also consider reflexology or aromatherapy, which will help you relax both mentally and physically, to the mutual benefit of each aspect.
I hope all goes well and your aches and pains reduce in time.
