Dear Shallot Man, iv'e just been and bought some Swift to get chitting for my earliest of potatoes.
I did buy a net that looked about the size seed that i like.
Not quite the same as being able to go through them though, i must admit.

OH. The great beauty of selecting your own, is you get the right amount per row, must have some Jewish blood somewhere in my ancestry.

Belated season"s greeting to every one.
Been a bit busy over the last few weeks mainly to do with that activity that is a four-letter word"work".
Main news is that my wife,Pam,has had the operation to her back, major surgery on her spine to de-compress it by inserting a titanium"spacer" between a couple of vertabrae.Pam will now make the scanning machine in airport security "beep"!.First indications are that the operation is successful.
Taken a couple of weeks off work to look after her so I"m Chief Bottlewasher,Cook,Cleaner, Nurse,General Housekeeper and Head Gardener.
Think I"ll go back to work!I have an easier time!

It does make us realise what a good job wives do at times like this.
You haven't started to watch QVC yet, as you are do the cleaning, have you.

Well i have just got quite annoyed with myself.
I have been doing a crossword and got stuck on this one for nearly 15 minutes before it suddenly came to me.
Purple flowering Autumn corm. (8)
C-C-A-E-
Funny how some things just won't come to you.
How quick did you get it.

I know, I just thought I'd put a little tension in your life...
I LOVE crosswords
preferably cryptic ones
so here's one of my favourite clues
"Highest ever bidder in a bloodstock sale" (7,3,5)
Go for it OH!

I'd never have got the cyclamen (apart of fitting a plant to the letters) - autumn flowering ones aren't purple but mainly pink or white - unless I'm colour blind!
